Dan Stark or Bernie?

So, dressing up for Halloween hadn't been something I've done in a long long time, probably since early teens when I was asked at the first house, "Aren't you a little old for trick or treating?"  Never been one to be in festive moods or go to Halloween parties. I blame Christy for having us dress up the last two years and I never know what to be and end up piecing things together last minute. Being fans of the newer show The Good Guys, I attempted to be Dan Stark, and it was pretty sad. People laughed at how bad the get-up looked and anyone who watches The Good Guys would still have no idea who I was supposed to be. However, it was even funnier afterward when reviewing the pictures taken. My mustache was losing its stick and being halfway dangling off, I had to keep adjusting it. So, now seeing the pics, it was  brought to my attention that I looked more like Bernie from Weekend at Bernie's and it's too true. Still makes me laugh whenever I see this pic. I might have to tie myself to Christy next year as Bernie instead.

What a Weekend

Christy & fam had some kind of stomach bug last week. Well, this weekend was my turn. As if it weren't uncomfortable enough, our air conditioning decided to stop working. So, I thought I'd go check out the circuit breakers on the side of the house. While I'm out there, I feel a sharp poke in my back and then a buzz in my ear. I was just stung by a yellow jacket. I've been stung by bees before, but this was a new one. It felt like a mini fire for a few mins and got a little puffy, but nothing big. Now I know I don't react for future stings. :p Of course, I couldn't let him get away with that. I went back outside armed with bug spray and looked around for a nest. I couldn't find anything and then the yellow jacket flew into a corner of our shed roof, so I soaked the whole area. Within the next few minutes, what I thought were a few drips from the bug spray soaking were actually more yellow jackets falling down dying. I had hit the jackpot without realizing it. I made sure to put a dozen more layers of bug spray in the area. Here's a picture of the nest I knocked down a couple days later.
